At University of Idaho, parents are partners in the educational process. Parent Orientation can help you to be a better advisor and partner, working with your son or daughter to make their transition to Vandal life successful. Parents can attend the spring New Student Orientation sessions with their students as well as attend a special session just for parents during the first break-out session with Vice Provost for Student Affairs/Dean of Students Bruce Pitman.

In the Fall there are several different dates for parent orientation depending on where your student will be living. (In spring all new student and parent orientation takes place on the same date.)

In Fall parents with students in fraternities and sororities have orientation that coincides with the fraternity and sorority recruitment dates that are usually a week before the beginning of classes. Parents with students in residence halls, on or off-campus apartments, or living at home may attend a parent orientation session that is scheduled to coincide with residence hall move-in dates right before the start of classes.
