New Student Orientation:

• New Student Orientation will take place from August 22 - 25, 2013.
• Parent Orientation events take place on August 22 -23, 2013 (except for fraternity/sorority parents).

Fraternity/Sorority Parent Orientation: 

• Parent Orientation events for the parents of students who participate in sorority recruitment will be held on August 15.
• Parent Orientation for the parents of students who participate in fraternity recruitment will be held on August 21.
• Please note, if your student has signed up for sorority or fraternity recruitment, both the student and parent(s) are registered for orientation through this process, and there is no need to register/pay for orientation a second time using the New Student Orientation website's online sign-up form.

Gain valuable info, resources, and tools to make positive choices as a new Vandal through an interactive, entertaining presentation. 11:30 a.m.	Academic College Meetings for Students: Meet with faculty and staff from your College or Department to learn more about your field of study and what to expect from your program.	Various Locations

2-4 p.m.	Student Orientation Sessions: Students break-out into useful workshops on a variety of topics including Health and Wellness, Success at the University of Idaho, Technology on Campus, and Getting Involved.	Teaching and Learning Center (TLC)
7-9 p.m.	Vandal Edge Orientation for Theophilus Tower Students: This required session for Tower residents will provide info about the components of the Vandal Edge program. Come meet the Tower staff and learn how they will help you have a successful year.	Theophilus Tower Courtyard
9 p.m.	Late Night at the Rec: Games, food, and fun! Meet other students, explore the Rec Center, and choose from dozens of activities and games to play.	Student Recreation Center

9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.	New Student Service Project- Serving Your New Community (SYNC): Attend your very first service project and participate in tree planting, watershed restoration, elementary school repairs, food drive efforts, trail maintenance, and much more! This is an excellent way to get to know other new students and your new city.	Meet on the Theophilus Tower Lawn
12:30-2 p.m.	Diversity, Equity and Community Barbeque: Stop by and get acquainted with the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA), Native American Student Center (NASC), College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), LGBTQA Office, Women’s Center, multicultural student leaders, UI staff and faculty. The BBQ is free and open to all.	Shattuck Amphitheatre
12:30-2 p.m.	Bob's Place open for lunch	Bob's Place, Wallace Residence Center
2-4 p.m.	Non-Traditional Student Orientation: This session is designed for students who are 24 or older, have dependents, are parents, have veteran’s status, and/or are married. We will discuss resources and strategies for being a successful student. Light refreshments will be served.	TBD
4-5 p.m.	Veteran Student Orientation Session: Meet with Dan Button, the Veterans Advisor, and learn about how veterans’ services and support on campus and in the surrounding community.	TBD

5 p.m.	Vandal Walk and President's Barbeque: Join us for this Vandal tradition.The first 1000 new students will receive a free Vandal Game Day shirt.	Start at the Sprinturf practice field east of the Kibbie Dome, end at Administration Lawn
