Commons and TLC
Through various programs and services, the Idaho Commons cultivates and enhances the living and learning experiences of students. Our students enjoy the many aspects of the building itself while gathering with friends to study, learn, and socialize with each other in a comfortable atmosphere. Cultural enrichment programs such as art exhibits, music, and speaker presentations are available to students, other members of the University community, and area residents. Opportunities for community and individual development exist for students through student government experiences, program planning, student organization involvement, volunteer opportunities, and job experiences.
It’s not surprising that every day around 10,000 people enter and exit this wonderful facility. This is the heart of campus, a venue where ideas are exchanged, a place to re-charge with food or coffee, a building with big windows and comfortable chairs providing areas perfect for studying or meeting. There is a grand piano in the Cedar Grove room on the main floor, and it isn't uncommon to find students relaxing and studying on a winter day, listening to other students play music while they deviate between watching the snow fall, reading a book or even catching a catnap. It makes sense that many important services for students would be located in this main artery of student life on the University of Idaho campus.
You will find:
- Academic Support and Assistance Programs,
- ASUI Student Government
- Department of Student Involvement,
- Associated Students of the University of Idaho,
