What We Do

Mission Statement

The Idaho Commons, including the Teaching and Learning Center, brings together the separate elements of student services, co-curricular activities, and teaching and learning needs into a complex at the center of campus. The Commons/TLC serves as a multipurpose activity hub, creating something greater than the sum of the individual parts.  

The Commons/TLC operates as the intellectual, physical, social, and aesthetic crossroads of campus life for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. Its success will be measured in its ability to support a renewed sense of place, the building of community on campus, a technologically advanced environment, and a major center for student services.  In keeping with the ideals of the Residential Campus, the Commons/TLC will aid in “centering” the University of Idaho experience as a living and learning environment.
