Katy Benoit Safety Forum & Campus Safety Week featuring “I Got Your Back” campaign
September 15-20, 2014
In an effort to promote campus safety and in loving memory of Katy Benoit, the University of Idaho will host the third-annual Campus Safety Week, September 15-20, 2014. A highlight of the week is the Katy Benoit Safety Forum, featuring Dr. Keith Edwards founder of "Men Ending Rape."
Campus partners have collaborated to provide several safety oriented events around campus during the week of September 15th, along with a campus-wide focus on the “I Got Your Back Campaign” that promotes Vandals taking care of each other. There are several amazing and inspiring examples on our campus of the courage that it takes to step up in a difficult situation to take care of friends, classmates, teammates and fellow Vandals. We hope to empower all of our students with the confidence and motivation to continue looking out for each other.
The “I Got Your Back” theme encompasses all that happens during safety week. We recognize the unique role that students can play in campus health and safety, and the health and safety of their peers, and we want to support their efforts with additional training and resources. The training and events provided for students, faculty, and staff are meant to give us all the resources we need to take a stand, look out for each other, and let our community know that at the University of Idaho, we care about each other.
