Service & Philanthropy
Fraternities and sororities actively support their local, national, and international communities through involvement in service projects and supporting philanthropies. Community service activities not only enhance your personal wellbeing and character, they also allow you to assist those who are in need.
Service and philanthropy are cornerstones of almost every Greek organization, so if you enjoy being supporting worthy causes, organizing campaigns or participating in events that help others, then Greek life is for you. Each year Greek students at the University of Idaho raise tens of thousands of dollars and contribute tens of thousands of service hours to worthy causes.
University of Idaho Greeks are leaders. Whether it is in the student government, on an intramural sports team, in clubs, or in social situations, when you join a fraternity or sorority you are opening the door to a wide range of leadership and service opportunities.
Fraternity and sorority members gain leadership skills, learn to delegate, set goals and manage time more effectively. Greeks are also demonstrated leaders and coordinate many major campus events and social programs.
