Fraternity and Sorority Life
The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life welcomes you, and invites you to join us at the University of Idaho! The Greek community has been a cornerstone of our university's legacy since its founding in 1889; 120 years and thousands of members later our community is thriving and offers 33 strong chapters whose members make up over 30 percent of the student population and almost half the students who live on campus!
Our chapters at the University of Idaho pride themselves on academic success, which they have displayed by keeping their grades above the all-campus average for over 10 years. A dedication to academics is not only encouraged in our community, there is also a built-in support system to help with classes, homework and tests. Our chapter scholarship programs include tutoring programs, academic advising, study hours, success workshops, peer mentoring groups and financial scholarship opportunities.
In addition to academics, our fraternities and sororities actively support local, national, and international communities through participation in community service projects and in support of many different philanthropies. Last year our community completed over 30,000 hours of community service and raised over $70,000 for a variety of organizations including Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, Habitat for Humanity and the American Cancer Society.
While each sorority and fraternity has its own philanthropies and traditions, they all strive for excellence and value scholarship, leadership, integrity and commitment.
Please take some time to view the Greek Life website and contact us if you have any questions.
