Palousafest is a street fair and concert that serves as the kickoff to the academic year at the University of Idaho. It's a "welcome" to new students and a "welcome back" to those returning to campus. Students learn about how to get involved and other opportunities at the University of Idaho and on the Palouse. Saturday, Aug. 22
5:30-7 p.m. street fair
7:30-9 p.m. concert featuring Branches
W. Sixth Street between Rayburn and Line streets, Theophilus Tower Lawn | Map
- Tethered hot air balloon rides (weather permitting) to give students an aerial view of campus
- Street fair featuring booths from more than 200 UI and community organizations
- Sumo wrestling
- Mechanical bull
- Bouncy castle
- Concert featuring L.A.-based indie folk rock band Branches
This event happens rain or shine.
Rain site for concert is the Bruce Pitman Center International Ballroom
UI-affiliated organizations/departments as well as businesses and community members are invited to sign up for table space at the event. The first table is free for UI-affiliated organizations/departments. Tables are $30 for business and community members. Electricity access is not provided.
Table registration is currently full. Registrants after July 23 will be added to a wait-list and contacted as space becomes available.
