Better World Book is an organization with a mission to end the book famine in Africa. They are the largest shipper of donated text and library books to promote literacy programs throughout the world through the Books for Africa project.
The University of Idaho has partnered with this organization to collect donated books from students. There are cardboard containers where students can drop off books which they would like to donate at in the Vandal Store and Commons. These books are then organized, packed, and shipped to the Books for Africa Warehouse where they are sold to locations which use them. The money made from the purchases is then used for literacy programs in Africa as well as other international locations..
