If you are looking to meet people who like horses, love to ride or want to learn to ride, and are missing your horses back home then this is the club to join! We accept all levels and styles of riders from absolute beginner to expert and teach you all the in's and out's of the sport of polo. Our members are a dynamic, fun loving group of riders who enjoy challenging themselves and keeping up that Vandal Pride! The University of Idaho Horse Polo Club competes at a collegiate level within the United States Polo Association us-polo.org
The team keeps busy during the typical indoor season, October through May, playing games and scrimmages at our home arena, Paradise Stables as well as traveling to other schools. UI Polo holds four practice nights per week and travels around the Northwest competing at a junior varsity and varsity level against schools such as Washington State University, Montana State University, and Oregon State University among others. Every year we take a week out of January as a fun get away to scrimmage other regional schools including Cal Poly, Stanford and Westmont. We even made it all the way to Hawaii one year!
We compete in a regional tournament at the end of the spring season to see who qualifies for the national polo tournament which we can proudly say was achieved by our men’s varsity team in 2010. All equipment and horses are provided and we offer a trial period so come on out and fall in love with the sport of kings!
