The U of I Bass Club is a college sanctioned fishing club, which is recognized by FLW, B.A.S.S., and Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing, as a college fishing team. As a member of the club, you gain the eligibility you need to participate in college-level tournaments, where you can compete to win boats, merchandise, as well as cash prizes for the club. Our club also has numerous sponsors, which allows us the benefit of purchasing equipment at a very competitive price.
Even if you are not a tournament angler, we accept all new members who love to fish, and want to learn more about fishing. As a club, we partake in different fishing trips, where we target different species of fish such as bass, trout, steelhead, Northern Pike, and anything else we can catch in some of our great Northwest fisheries. These opportunities allow you to meet some people who have similar interests in you, as well as hopefully learn something new about fishing that will make you a more successful fisherman (or woman).
As part of the Bass Club, we hold ourselves to a high standard of sportsmanship, values, and self-discipline. We strive to not only promote the sport of fishing at the University of Idaho, but in the whole Pacific Northwest. Our goal as a club is to grow the sport enough so that all of the schools in our region one day have a fishing club.
