Avalanche Fundamentals Course
This course is designed for educated users wanting to revitalize or expand their winter backcountry knowledge. Participants will be led through safe travel techniques, route finding, snowpack evaluation, transceiver use and recovery. There will be two evening classes in order to set the stage for North Idaho Backcountry Mountains.
Cost: $120 includes transportation, lodging, equipment food and instruction.
Trip: January 27 & 29 at 5pm, SRC Classroom  Field Session:  January 31 - February 1


Cross Country Ski Tour
Palouse Divide Idaho
This tour focuses on improving technique and efficiency on flats and uphills and techniques for controlling speed and turing on downhills.  All ability levels are welcome.
Cost: $30

Aneroid Basin Backcountry Ski Trip
Wallowa Mountain, Oregon
This is a 4-day trip for all those with backcountry and avalanche safety experience. Come and experience a winter wilderness in one of Oregon's best kept secrets.

Avalanche Beacon Clinic
SRC Classroom
The Beacon Clinic is designed for all ability levels to get out on the snow and practice your beacon.  Whether you spend every day in the backcountry or are just starting out, knowing how to use your beacon is the most important skill to have when it comes to avalanche rescue.

Experience the beauty of the snow covered mountains at Fields Spring State Park.  All experience levels are welcome.

How to Participate:

Sign up for trips and clinics begin the first day of classes at the Outdoor Program Office in the Student Recreation Center. Fees are due at sign-up and are non-refundable. Pre-trip meetings are held at the SRC.
