Backcountry Skills & Avalanche Safety
This course is designed for educated users wanting to revitalize or expand their winter backcountry knowledge. Participants will be led through safe travel techniques, route finding, snowpack evaluation, transceiver use and recovery. There will be two evening classes in order to set the stage for the weekend in the Wallowa Mountains.
Cost: $120 includes transportation, lodging, equipment food and instruction.
Trip: Classes December 9th and 10th, Weekend Trip: December 12th –December 14th


Work to Backcountry Ski-Aneroid Basin
This is a 3-day trip for all ability levels; the purpose of this trip is not only to delve into this beautiful wilderness area, as well, the readying of the ski huts for the winter season. Participants of this trip earn priority for a spring hut trip!
Cost: $20
Trip: September 19th-21st, pre-trip September 17th at 5:00 pm

How to Participate:

Sign up for trips and clinics begin the first day of classes at the Outdoor Program Office in the Student Recreation Center. Fees are due at sign-up and are non-refundable. Pre-trip meetings are held at the SRC.
