The Format of Trips and Clinics

The following are descriptions of trip and clinic formats. All outdoor program trips and activities are "Common Adventure" and each participant is responsible for their own personal safety and level of participation.

Cooperative Trips

The purist of Outdoor Program adventures. Cooperative trips are cost sharing. Participants supply their own food and personal equipment through rental or purchase. Required pre-trip meetings are held to work out trip details. Listed fees are for transportation, group gear, and group lodging if provided.

Instructional Cooperative Trips

An instructor will accompany these trips with the primary goal of teaching. Participants will be an active part of their learning by sharing group cost, and helping to plan their experience. Personal equipment and food is the responsibility of the participants. Listed Fees are for transportation, group gear, and group lodging if provided.

Instructional Workshops and Clinics

Building block experiences! Clinic participants will receive hands-on instruction on skills and techniques involved with an activity. The clinic may or may not involve a cooperative trip.

Sign-ups for trips and classes start the beginning of each semester (unless otherwise listed) at the Outdoor Program Office in the Student Recreation Center.

Fees are due at sign-up and are non-refundable. Pre-trip meetings are held at the Outdoor Program office.
More detailed information sheets on instructional activities are available at the Outdoor Program office.
All activities are scheduled on a seasonal basis. Inquire about specific trip dates and times at the Outdoor Program Office in the SRC.
