Policies and Procedures for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing Students
Why a “No-Show” policy?
The University of Idaho has a No-Show policy because we want to:
Can you as a student avoid a No-Show?
Yes! Just contact the Coordinator of Deaf Services or the DSS office with the following information before the class begins:
Do you have to give a reason for not going to class?
No! If we can help in some way and you wish to give the reason for missing class, that’s fine, but it is NOT required.
Consequences for Student No-Show
After the first No-Show per class per semester, in order to retain services, contact the Coordinator of Deaf Services at least 24 hours before you need to have the services resumed.
After the second No-Show per class per semester, in order to retain services, contact the Coordinator of Deaf Services at least 24 hours before you need to have the services resumed.
After the third No-Show per class per semester, in order to retain services, arrange a Return of Service meeting the Deaf Services Coordinator. The services will be resumed based on the student’s special request for the class in which the services have been cancelled.

- Make the best use of our limited financial resources

- Class time and day
- The name of the service provider (interpreter, notetaker etc.)
