Hi everyone. These are the minutes taken at the Golden Key meeting on 2/23/00: I. Officers who are planning to attend the Boise convention need to register by March 3rd. II. The Bookstore is offering a scholarship. If you would like to nominate anyone, please contact Matthew Cram, President, at Matthewcram@hotmail.com III. New Student Services needs help with recruitment. It would involve talking to your hometown high-school over spring break about the University of Idaho. There will be an information session sometime before spring break. To sign up or to ask any questions you can contact Alicia Carlson at carl1550@novell.uidaho.edu. Also, anyone who is interested in helping with Vandal Friday (March 30th) should also contact Alicia. They need help with tours, answering students questions, and cleaning up. Any time or help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. There will be a training session sometime before Vandal Friday. More information will be available later. IV. John Evey is heading up the incentive committee. He needs help for incentive ideas and getting donations for incentives from various businesses and individuals. Some ideas include a raft trip or a cruise for those who attend a certain amount of meetings and events. To help with this, you can contact John Evey at evey1234@uidaho.edu V. Carissa Decker needs help with the service committee. Basically, the service committee wants to find something new that the Golden Key can do to help the community. An idea is a program called College Bound that will educate young students about higher education. VI. We had a lot of fun playing an ice breaker game provided by Alicia Carlson. If anyone has any ideas for future games to make the meetings fun, they should let Alicia know. Thanks to everyone that came to the meeting and thank-you to Jack Morris for providing us with a gift certificate from Hastings awarded to member at the meeting. The next meeting will be in two weeks at 5:00. The room will be announced at later time. We may have a guest speaker from Americorp. I hope to see you all there! Minutes recorded by Beth Armstrong. |
