Wallace Residence Center

Looking to be the center of student activity?

Renovated in 2016, Wallace is home to mostly first-year students on co-ed floors. Three floors in one Wallace building houses upper level students. Convenience to the main dining hall, resident-only parking, the Student Success Program and community kitchen make Wallace a fantastic choice for students. Residents enjoy the large lounge which includes video gaming, TVs, air hockey, ping pong and pool. 

2017-2018 academic year housing rates for a Double Room: $2,150/Semester.
Single Rooms are $2,950/Semester.

2018-2019 academic year housing rates for a Double Room: $2,215/Semester.
Single Rooms are $3,040/Semester.

Each room includes two twin beds (bunk style), two dressers, one vanity with sink, two closets, two desks and two gaming chairs. Restrooms are located in the middle of each four-person suite. Suites are gender specific and located on a co-ed floor.

Gooding Wing is one of four wings in Wallace Residence Center consisting of six co-ed floors with gender-specific suites. Gooding Wing is a first-year living option only. The Vandal Edge program in this wing helps students succeed from the first day by encouraging a connection with peers and the university.

Willey Wing Floor Options

Ballard Wing is one of four wings in Wallace Residence Center consisting of four co-ed floors with gender-specific suites. Ballard 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor are available for sophomore through senior level undergraduates students, graduate students and transfer students. Ballard 4th floor is a first-year living option only. The Vandal Edge program on the 4th floor helps students succeed from the first day by encouraging a connection with peers and the university.

Ballard Wing Floor Options

Housing & Residence Life is dedicated to ensuring students have a successful first year on campus. First year students participate in the Vandal Edge program, which is designed to help students and develop strong academic habits and become active members of the University of Idaho community.

Students are encouraged to complete the following tasks during the fall semester:

  • Attend two culturally based programs.
  • Participate in one service project.
  • Become a member of a student organization or club.
  • Attend one workshop presented by an Academic Peer Mentor.
  • Attend one study session presented by an Academic Peer Mentor.
  • Meet with a University of Idaho Academic Advisor.

Vandal EDGE is a first year program to help you engage in the Vandal community. Bulletin boards announcing upcoming events and opportunities are located in each residence hall floor and information desk areas are regularly updated.
