- ANOVA
for Researchers : Introduction to balanced and
unbalanced ANOVA including nesting, factorial treatments,
contrasts, and multiple comparisons. Graphical methods
for assessing underlying assumptions are outlined.
- Transforming
Data : Overview of when and how to transform data
prior to analysis. The power family of transformations is
introduced as a general method for transforming data. A
SAS program is given to find the maximum likelihood
estimate of the power of the transformation.
- Statistical
Power and Sample Size : Using modern statistical
software one can easily calculate power for many standard
statistical designs. Given power, one can determine the
sample size necessary to detect target differences.
- Diagnostic
Plots in Regression : Survey of many of the
interesting plots that one might do when performing a
multiple regression analysis. Plots can be used to assess
underlying assumptions, look for missing variables, and
explore the partial contribution of a variable.
- Interactive Data Analysis
with SAS Proc INSIGHT: SAS Proc INSIGHT is
an environment for conducting a variety of interactive
and exploratory data analyses. In this workshop, we
concentrate on graphical displays for understanding data,
with occasional reference to performing data analyses.
