Would your research benefit from statistical advice?

The Statistical Consulting Center (SCC) at the University of Idaho can help! The SCC offers assistance on design of surveys and experiments, analysis of data, proposal preparation, and on other statistical questions. Our services include free advice on the choice of appropriate designs for surveys and experiments, and free advice on methods of data analysis to be used. We can also coordinate assistance with computer services to import data and choose appropriate statistical programs for data analysis. We have a fee structure for performing data entry, data management, and analysis of data, which can often be performed by graduate students in our master's degree program in statistics, under faculty supervision. Call us for details on fees for these services - we will be glad to assist in preparing cost estimates for grants.

Eligibility: All faculty, staff, and graduate students at the University of Idaho are eligible to use SCC services.

When to visit: The earlier the better, preferably before adoption of an experimental design or calculation of sample sizes. Early visits to the SCC can insure that adequate sample sizes are collected using efficient designs, to optimize your ability to answer your research questions.

Graduate student appointments: Graduate students are greatly encouraged to bring their major professor to their first SCC appointment. Past experience has shown that communication between all interested parties leads to the most rapid progress in project design and analysis.

To make an appointment: Phone the Division of Statistics office (885-2929). Times are available throughout the week.
