Statistics review
These online books are a great way to review, and also to learn new material. The first set of links are mainly introductory, partly at the level of our Statistics 251 course, but several of these books also include additional material.
Introductory Statistics: Concepts, Models, and Applications: An online book by David W. Stockburger of Southwest Missouri State University.
Statistics: The Study of Stability in Variation. An online book by Jan de Leeuw of UCLA. Includes material on multivariate statistics.
The knowledge base: An online research methods textbook, by William M.K.Trochim of Cornell University. Presented from a social sciences perspective, it includes material that is often negected in traditional introductory courses.
The following links address various statistical methods.
Air University Sampling and Surveying Handbook. A good introduction to survey sampling methods.
An Introduction to Mixed Effects Linear Models by Bob Baker of the University of Saskatchewan. The title on the main page is 'Basic principles of statistical analysis', but it is actually a nice treatment of mixed effects models.
Nonparametric Statistical Methods, a supplemental text, by Dr. A.J. Rossini.
Introduction to Monte Carlo Methods by the Computational Science Education Project.
Statistical Consulting News from the Cornell University Office of Statistical Consulting. An electronic newsletter that covers a variety of topics.
