The Silver and Gold Celebration in Coeur d'Alene is coming up Wednesday, April 11. An evening social and reception for Kootenai County alumni and friends, open to the public. The evening will include campus updates and remarks from University leadership. A highlight of the evening is the presentation of University of Idaho Alumni Association awards.

Be Prepared to Get a Job Workshop
University of Idaho Coeur d'Alene staff will be volunteering staff and resources for a local workshop geared toward job seekers. All job-seekers are invited to participate in the "Be Prepared to Get a Job" workshop offered from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 in the North Idaho College Edminster Student Union Building Lake Coeur d'Alene Room. The workshop will focus on providing assistance with the soft skills necessary for getting a job in a competitive job market, such as interviewing, resume writing, computer skills, dressing for success, and utilizing community resources like Idaho career information and the Idaho Department of Labor. The experiential workshop will be open for three hours on a drop-in basis, though participants are asked to leave enough time to be interviewed and critiqued before visiting different professional stations for assistance. Sponsored by North Idaho College and the Coeur d'Alene Chamber Education Committee.

Science on Tap Coeur d’Alene welcomes Dr. David Gertman, Principal Research Scientist for Human Factors and Human Reliability at the Idaho National Laboratory on Thursday, April 12 at 5:30 pm at the Fort Ground Grill. Dr. Gertman’s session “Get your foot off the pedal: Engineering driver efficiency” will discuss how the habits of drivers and new technologies in cars can increase fuel efficiency.
