Service-Learning Faculty Fellows

Our Faculty Fellows in Service-Learning represent leaders in teaching innovation at the University of Idaho. They come from diverse disciplines but all share an interest in creating an optimal learning environment for their students. They believe that service-learning is one method of enhancing the learning experience. These faculty members were selected through a competitive, peer-reviewed application process. They have completed an intensive training program and have then worked towards implementing service-learning in a new or existing course.
 

Faculty members and instructors who are interested in professional development in the area of academic service-learning should contact the Service-Learning Center. We typically offer workshops for those new to service-learning in the fall, and advanced trainings for experienced practioners in the spring. However, we can customize the content and schedule of either program to meet individual needs and interests.

The Service-Learning Center also provides workshops, grants, and curricular support to faculty members, instructors, and graduate student TAs who are interested in increasing their knowledge in and proficiency with the pedagogy of service-learning.
