Getting Help on Campus
The university expects employees, in conjunction with assuming personal responsibility for safety and security of the community, to report crimes or suspicious activity to police promptly so that police officers and university officials have the opportunity to successfully investigate. Fraternities and sororities are located in the City of Moscow and receive police services from the Moscow Police Department.
Basic 911 telephone service provides direct access to the Moscow Police Department from WHITCOM (regional) dispatch for reporting emergencies. Moscow 911 service is equipped to receive incoming calls from text telephones. As this is a regional dispatch, dispatchers may ask you to verify what city and location you are calling from. They may ask you other questions as well. Please help the dispatchers in answering their questions as they are also getting assistance en-route at the same time.
Emergency Telephones
There are a series of courtesy phones located across the University of Idaho campus, from which “911” can be dialed during an emergency.
Building Security
Buildings are currently open and locked by Facilities personnel. If you are locked out of your office, contact the UI Facilities Management Department at (208) 885-6246, and a Facilities employee will assist you if you are carrying the proper university identification.
