The College of Science Ambassador Program is designed to incorporate exceptional undergraduate students from within our college to aid in our recruitment and retention efforts and act as the official representatives of the College of Science to the community. Students are selected to serve as ambassadors through an application and interview process. Ambassadors are trained in university processes and given opportunities to enhance both their communication and leadership skills through a one-credit course taught by Dr. Daniel Stelck.
The mission of the ambassador program is to promote the College of Science in a positive and professional manner to prospective and current students as well as faculty, staff and the community. Our ambassadors work directly with various university departments in order to serve as a public relations and institutional advancement team. The College of Science ambassadors strive to represent the college in a manner that exemplifies campus pride, display a sound knowledge about the College of Science and leave a positive and lasting impression of University of Idaho.
For more information about the program, contact Daniel Stelck at email@example.com or any of our current College of Science ambassadors.

: Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
My name is Brennan Duro and I am a senior majoring in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology here at the University of Idaho. I have always had a passion for science and have been in the same college during my time at university. I am from Boise, ID and enjoy spending my summer and winter breaks there snowboarding, playing tennis, and doing other outdoor activities. If I'm not studying you can find me at the gym or watching sports. My plans and goals for the future include attending graduate school and having a career in science.

: Physics & Chemistry
I am a fourth year physics and chemistry major with a minor in mathematics. I am also a pre-medicine student. I currently work under Dr. Ytreberg in the biophysics lab studying the human p53 protein. I was born in California but grew up in Boise, Idaho. During my high school days I discovered a passion for physics and in my sophomore year of college I decided chemistry wasn't too bad either. The math minor is a product of convenience. My interests include backpacking, swimming, skiing, reading, golfing, traveling, cracked.com, playing guitar, and bumming around with the ER crew at the Boise VA hospital.

Hello! My name is Kelly Christensen and I am the ambassador for the Mathematics department. I am currently a sophomore double majoring in Physics and Mathematics. I am originally from the small town of Ririe in Southeast Idaho. Two of my favorite scientists are Richard Feynman and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Numbers are great, but in my free time I like to dance or read. I am looking forward to working with College of Science staff and students.

My name is Sidney and I am from Lewiston, Idaho. I'm studying forensic chemistry and hope to one day analyze evidence from crime scenes. One of the reasons I love chemistry is that it is a puzzle which scientists are trying to figure out how and why molecules work the way they do. When not at school, I enjoy relaxing at home, looking at the stars and camping.

: Chemistry & Spanish
I am from Athol, Idaho and I am a junior double majoring in Chemistry and Spanish. I wanted to be a part of the ambassador program because I really like the science department here at the University of Idaho and I think more potential students should know about the opportunities that are offered for Science majors. I just recently became a member of the Magolan Research Group here at University of Idaho, so I spend a lot of my time in the chemistry lab working on my organic synthesis project. After graduation, I plan on either going to medical school or to graduate school to get a PhD in Chemistry.
