College of Science awards for outstanding undergraduate students

Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award:

Dean’s Awards:

  • Jonah Bartrand, graduating with majors in Physics and Mathematics (Scientific Modeling option)
  • Alyssa Baugh, graduating with majors in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
  • Nathan Dice, graduating with a major in Physics
  • David Richards, graduating with a major in Microbiology
  • Sleight Smith, graduating with a major in Chemistry (Professional option)
  • Mikahala Waters, graduating with a major in Geological Sciences (Hydrogeology option)

One of the Dean’s Award recipients is selected to receive the John B. George Award as the outstanding graduating senior in the College of Science. This year’s winner of the George Award is Alyssa Baugh.

Finally we have five winners of Student Achievement Awards to announce as well:

  • Guadalupe Corona Ortiz — Biology/Chemistry
  • Samuel Hernandez — Mathematics
  • Dylan Porter — Geography
  • Alyssa Baugh — Biochemistry/Microbiology/Molecular Biology
  • Allysha Yasuda — Microbiology

Congratulations to all of these excellent students! These awards will be presented at the College of Science reception following commencement exercises on May 12. The reception will be at approximately noon (depending on when commencement ceremonies end) in the Pitman Center International Ballroom. We hope you’ll be able to join us there to honor all of our graduates.
