Studying

What is your favorite study tip?
The best thing that I have ever done for my studies was creating a highly detailed agenda. Plan studying at least a week before an exam.

What is your go-to study snack?
I don’t really have a study snack, but embarrassingly I drank Redline occasionally when I really need help with late night studying.

Tell us

What are your plans for after graduation?
I will start my Ph.D. work in August at Iowa State University. My Ph.D. will be in microbiology and my major professor will be Dr. Stephan Schmitz-Esser. I am also considering to get a MBA in the future.

What should incoming first-year students know?
Don’t slack off your freshman year it will be a pain to recover the GPA. I would also advise to try to get into a research lab as soon as you get to campus.

What advice to you have for other students in your major?
Start reading scientific papers early, it is something that will help you in this field.
