Department of Geological Sciences

The University of Idaho offers a dynamic, 21st century geology program to meet the needs of students seeking a career in industry or academics. Our faculty strive to integrate classical geology fieldwork and data collection with quantitative methods of analysis to unravel the Earth's past and obtain a glimpse of its future. Our location in the Rocky Mountain west, research that spans the globe, and the chance to work personally with internationally recognized faculty make the Department of Geological Sciences the program of choice for a wide variety of career paths in the earth and planetary sciences.
