An Introduction to Chemical Laboratory Safety

The video below was prepared by the Department of Chemistry. It is intended to be orientation and introduction to laboratory safety for anyone beginning laboratory research in our department (undergraduate students, graduate students, technicians, post-docs, etc.)

The video is intended as a brief introduction to laboratory safety issues and does not contain complete and comprehensive information about safety in our department.

Safety in a chemistry laboratory requires extensive knowledge and diligence. Working safely is ultimately the individual responsibility of each laboratory worker. If you have any questions about safety in the laboratory or about information presented in this video, please see your research supervisor or ask for direction from a chemistry faculty or staff member.
