Dr. Sofie Pasilis received her Ph.D. in Chemistry and her M.S. in Hydrology from the University of Arizona. She completed her postdoctoral research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Dr. Pasilis' research interests include: (a) actinide speciation in room temperature ionic liquids and supercritical fluids, (b) solution, surface, and biocoordination chemistry of the actinides, (c) physical and chemical processes occurring at mineral/water interfaces, (d) development of analytical methods for mass spectrometry and vibrational spectroscopy.
