Financial Aid
Most of our graduate students are supported as teaching assistants in their first year, although a first-year student may occasionally be granted support in the form of a research assistantship.
Teaching assistants are currently paid $16,603.20 for the ten-month teaching year, and the department supplements this with a summer scholarship of at least $2,000.00, bringing the total support for the year to $18,603.20.
The exact amount of an assistantship is set by the state legislature. In addition to this annual support, out-of-state tuition is waived, and we will pay at least $1,900 per semester of the registration fees, which are currently set at $3,581.00 per semester.
