Community Involvement
Our college is unique in that our curriculum touches every University of Idaho student, from those studying to become biologists to future accountants to those pursuing a degree in law or wildlife management. Of course, we also work with teachers and adult learners across the state of Idaho.
We see this as an important responsibility and a tremendous opportunity. To best serve these groups, our college is active at the university level and in the community. For example, we are involved in the Gateway to Mathematics Project which is a alliance between universities, K-12 schools, and private sector partners focused on development of a sustainable and adaptable model for Web-based mathematics education. Our efforts are promoting greater access to calculus courses in high schools across the state, though on-campus and distance learning opportunities. Together, we are working to get students more interested in pursuing science, engineering and technology related degrees at the university level.
