SAFE ZONE BACKGROUND

Safe Zone programs have been in existence for over 15 years on college campuses.  Presently, there are about 200 active programs across the United States.  Our UI program began in August of 2003 with a small group of student volunteers and faculty advisors.  Since that time, UI Safe Zone has presented programs to over 350 people on campus – in departments, campus housing, and through open trainings.  Our goal is for our Safe Zone placards to be seen all over campus.
