Bicycle Safety
Bicycles are an important and frequently used mode of transportation on the UI's Moscow campus as well as throughout the City of Moscow. Due to the high volume of vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic on the university campus, cyclists are expected to ride courteously and defensively. This webpage includes links to a bicycle safety video and other resources that may be viewed and used to learn about proper bicycle handling skills, traffic laws and local ordinances that pertain to bicycles, and general bicycle safety practices that, if consistently applied, will help riders avoid accidents and injuries.
Even if you do not ride a bicycle yourself, an understanding the traffic laws pertaining to bicycles and the special safety considerations cyclists face can help you be a safer motorist.
