Rob Ely
Rob specializes in examining the epistemological relationships between the way students learn particular mathematical concepts and the way these concepts developed historically. He particularly focuses on student and historical conceptions of the infinite and the infinitesimal, variables and quantities, and argumentation.
Rob brings his interest and expertise in mathematics education to the Interdisciplinary STEM Advisory Team. He will assist in the development of math education questions for both the statewide, teacher, and student surveys.
