Mark McGuire 2007
Dr. Mark McGuire, associate professor in animal and veterinary science, joined the faculty of the University of Idaho in 1995. He received his doctoral degree from Cornell University in 1994. Dr. McGuire has built a world-class research program in his own right at the University of Idaho through his ability to communicate, his economic understanding, and the ability to address real-life problems. His enthusiasm for research on lactation physiology, fatty acid metabolism in cattle and humans, and dairy production is well established and known by colleagues and the scientific community throughout the world. Dr. McGuire is thorough and does not hesitate to jump in and complete the necessary work and complex tasks related to writing grant proposals, setting up new experiments, developing new animal science materials for a class, overseeing undergraduate students’ directed studies, and other related works.
