Cooperative Agreement
For over 50 years the University of Idaho and Washington State University have cooperated on sharing academic resources which has enriched educational opportunities for students and has fostered the sharing of faculty, facilities, and ideas between our universities. The close proximity of two major land grant institutions provides a unique opportunity for cooperation between two institutions with similar programs and a similar mission.
University of Idaho Students
Admission and Registration at WSU
UI degree-seeking students wishing to register for approved WSU cooperative courses will take the following steps:
Deadlines and procedures for registration changes for a WSU cooperative course will follow WSU regulations.
What About Fees and Financial Aid?
UI students will continue to pay all registration fees and tuition to UI, however, they will be responsible for paying any special course fees (e.g. lab fees, technology fees, etc) directly to WSU for cooperative courses they are enrolled in. WSU will share enrollment information of the UI cooperative students in order for their registered credits to count toward full-time enrollment status at UI. UI students will continue to receive their financial aid through UI.
Washington State University Students
Admission and Registration at UI
WSU degree-seeking students wishing to register for approved UI cooperative courses will take the following steps:
Deadlines and procedures for registration changes for a UI cooperative course will follow UI regulations.
WSU cooperative students will be assigned a VandalMail email account for their UI registration. All official communication from the UI instructors is sent to this address so be sure to check it frequently.

UI degree-seeking students wishing to register for approved WSU cooperative courses will take the following steps:
- Consult your academic advisor to determine the proper class(es).
- Review the WSU Cooperative Class Schedule for offerings (use link on left menu).
- Complete a WSU Cooperative Course Application; undergraduate students should complete the Undergraduate Application* and graduate students should complete the Graduate Application. *Additionally, UI undergraduate students will need to apply online (see instructions on application). You will not be charged an application fee.
- WSU will admit UI students as cooperative non-degree status and notify students of their admission and login credentials.
- Register for WSU cooperative class(es) on zzusis.

Admission and Registration at UI
WSU degree-seeking students wishing to register for approved UI cooperative courses will take the following steps:
- Consult your academic advisor to determine the proper class(es).
- Review the UI Cooperative Class Schedule for offerings (use UI Coop Classes link on left menu).
- Complete the UI Application for Cooperative Admission; this application may be submitted directly to the UI Registrar's Office or to the WSU Registrar's Office.
- UI will admit WSU students as cooperative non-degree status and notify students of their admission and login credentials.
- Register for UI cooperative class(es) on VandalWeb; see registration calendar for availability.
