Removing Holds

All undergraduate students are required to meet with their academic advisor before registering for classes. After the meeting, the advisor must remove the hold from the student's record to permit registration.

How to Remove an Advisor or Probation Hold

Advisor Holds only appear in the top right corner of Student Profile when the hold is active. Advisors can remove these holds earlier using Advisee Management.

Student Profile

1. Go to your Advisee's Student Profile
2. Select Term and enter Student ID or search Student Name to locate correct student
3. Select View Profile
4. In top, right corner open the Holds link
5. Locate Advisor hold or the Probation hold and click Release button

Advisee Management

Probation holds can only be removed using Student Profile.

1. Go to Advisee Management
2. Release advisor holds by using the radio buttons for each student
3. Click Save Changes

Advisee records are automatically updated through the Change of Major process. Any additional changes must be done directly in Banner by administrative staff in the department or college.
