First Aid/CPR/AED

A suitable number of employees must have the necessary training to appropriately administer first aid to victims of accidents or illnesses in the workplace until they can obtain professional medical attention. Additionally, CPR/AED training is offered as these techniques have been proven to significantly increase a victim's chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest.

You need to take part 1 (online through AHA) and part 2 (skills test through EHS) to be certified. The same courses are used for both initial and renewal certifications.

Note: EHS can only offer skills tests to University of Idaho employees.

PART 1: Take one of the following:

Heartsaver® CPR & AED Online OR
Heartsaver® First Aid Online with CPR & AED

PART 2: Take one or both of the following:

CPR & AED Skills Test
First Aid Skills Test

For Part 1 of CPR/AED and/or First Aid, the online portion of the course, see the AHA course registration website. You will need to have a credit card available to register for the course.

For Part 2 of CPR/AED and/or First Aid, the hands on portion of the course, contact EHS at 885-6524 to schedule an appointment. You will need to bring the certificate of completion you printed out after taking the AHA online course.
