Q&A WITH MICHELLE

The best thing about the University of Idaho:
Hands down, the best thing about the University of Idaho is the Vandal community. As a staff member, I felt at home immediately when I started my career at UI. People really care about each other here. There is a sense of connectedness both in the classroom and out. The University of Idaho truly is a community of talented students, dedicated staff, and accomplished faculty.

Favorite campus activity:
My favorite time of year is in the fall when students arrive on campus before the start of classes. There is always a sense of excitement, pride, and energy that carries on throughout the year. I love welcoming new and returning students into our community!

Favorite local activity:
I like catching live music on the quad, or spending time outdoors - hiking or camping.

Favorite local restaurant:
In warmer weather, Patty’s Kitchen is my favorite. I love sitting on the patio, listening to music, eating traditional Mexican Food, and soaking up the sun. Another favorite is Gambino’s on 6th street. Best part….they’re both walking distance from campus!

Advice for your students:
There are endless possibilities and opportunities in your college experience. Talk to current students and recent grads to find out what their experience was like. Let your admissions counselor know what is important to you, so he or she can help you make the right connections. Apply early, and visit campus!
