Q&A with Heather Ropelato

The best thing about the University of Idaho:
This is a tough question for someone who loves everything about the University of Idaho! For me personally, the best part of the University of Idaho is the people. The students, faculty, and staff at the University of Idaho and the Moscow community members make this area the absolute best place to go to school and live!

Why did YOU choose the University of Idaho?
The biggest reason I chose the University of Idaho was the size. I went to a small high school, and I loved having the one-on-one interactions with my teachers. I knew I wanted a similar experience when I went to college, and I also wanted to go to a university where I could meet people from all walks of life.

Favorite campus activity:
My favorite campus activity is called Cruise the World! International students from all over the world set up tables representing their countries to share aspects of their cultures. Students dress in traditional clothing, participate in performances, and serve food from their countries to students and the community.

Favorite local restaurant:
Wheatberries is a locally owned bakery located in downtown Moscow. They make their breads and pastries fresh every day. They have the best Panini sandwiches and sugar cookies! I've also enjoyed going over to Jamms for frozen yogurt. Yum!

Favorite local activity:
One of my favorite local activities is jogging or riding my bike along the Chipman Trail, a paved trail that runs right along the perimeter of campus and connects Pullman, WA to Moscow, and Troy, Idaho. My favorite section is from campus towards Troy.

Advice for your students:
Investing in your education is the best money you will ever spend, so plan accordingly. It is never too early to start planning your future.

When should students contact you?
