The best thing about the University of Idaho:
The people! The thing that makes the University of Idaho so special to me is how awesome our community is. From faculty and staff to all my friends, the people are what made my experience here so great.

Why did YOU choose the University of Idaho?
My dad wanted to go to school out west - somewhere near mountains. Idaho’s proximity to the mountains and its leading forestry program met his criteria. I was born while he was enrolled at U of I and even went to class with him as a baby! So I guess you could say that I got an early start on my education here at the University, and the rest is history.

Favorite local activity:
Checking out Moscow’s diverse selection of places to eat. Hanging out with my friends. Flying around the Palouse, and taking in the great outdoors.

Advice for your students:
I have two things that I really try to drive home to my students. The first is - do what makes you happy. Pursue a career that will still excite you twenty years down the road. Don’t just focus on money! If you love your job and work hard, the money will come. The second is get involved. I cannot stress enough the value of being active and getting involved in campus activities. Doing so will make you a more marketable employee when you enter the job market, introduce you to some great friends, and truly enrich your experience at the University of Idaho.
