University of Idaho Community:
The success of the University of Idaho is in its ability to position itself for the future. Faculty, staff and students have implemented many of the strategies in the 2005-2010 university Strategic Action Plan, accomplishments and positive outcomes that I have recognized during my first 10 months as president. We have much to celebrate!
As we continue to focus on the strategic direction of the University of Idaho, I have been meeting with administrators to frame a process to update the Strategic Action Plan creating a new university plan for the 2011-2015 period, which will reflect the six themes introduced last fall, the five research initiatives, and our continuing commitments to our land-grant mission. This will also position us to be prepared for our next NWCCU accreditation visit in 2012 (with the university report due Fall 2011). I am asking that a Strategic Plan Steering Committee be convened to guide this process over the summer and develop a plan for implementation by the end of the 2010 calendar year.
I write today to seek nominations for membership on the Strategic Plan Steering Committee, composed of 10 to 12 members to include faculty, staff and students, whose charge will to review and update the University’s Strategic Plan. Nominations should be submitted to my assistant, Patty Houle, firstname.lastname@example.org
, by close of business on Wednesday, April 28. Please include the name of your nominee along with their contact information.
I look forward to engaging our community in this process and setting the course for the University of Idaho in our future years.
