I received a parking citation, what are my options?

Parking citations must be paid or appealed within 15 days of the issue date. If it is not appealed within 15 days, the final option is to pay the fine. Unpaid citations may be sent to collections, may prevent you from purchasing a permit the following year, may prevent you from registering for classes, and/or may make your vehicle eligible for wheel lock or impound.

How will I receive notification of the Committees decision on my appeal?

The Parking Committee appeal decision letter will be emailed to the email address you provided. If no email address was provided, you will receiveĀ a letter in the mail.

What do I do if I have more than one citation, but the same reason for appealing them?

An appeal should be submitted for each individual citation number, even if the appeal statement is the same.

I appealed my citation and have not received a response, and the date on the citation for paying or appealing is approaching. Do I need to pay it or take further action?
No. Once a citation has been appealed, payment is not required unless notification is received that the appeal was denied, payment would be due at that time. The Parking Committee meets once a month, it can take up to 6 weeks to receive the adjudication decision.
Will I receive confirmation that my appeal was submitted?
Yes, after submitting your appeal online you will receive an automated email response confirming that your appeal was submitted successfully. After your appeal is submitted it will remain in an "adjudication pending" status until the appeal is reviewed by the Parking Committee.
How do I appeal a citation?

To appeal a ticket look up your ticket by entering the ticket number and vehicle license plate number. All parking citation appeals are reviewed by the Parking Committee, which is made up of volunteer faculty, staff and students. The Committee meets once a month, so it can take several weeks before you will hear of the decision. You will be notified of the Committee decision by US Mail or e-mail depending on the contact information you provide in the appeal.

When will I hear of my appeal decision?

The Parking Committee meets once a month during the academic year and does not meet during the summer break. For this reason, notification of the Committees decision may take up to 6 weeks from the date an appeal is submitted, during the academic year, and more than 6 weeks for appeals submitted very late in the spring semester or during the summer break.
