Walters Named New HR Director

The University of Idaho has selected a new executive director of human resources. Greg Walters, currently the assistant manager of human resources for the state of Oregon, is to begin work here on Aug. 13, 2012.

"Greg Walters brings a wealth of human resources experience from the perspective of state and higher education organizations," said Ron Smith, vice president for Finance and Administration.

Since 2009, Walters served as the senior human resource analyst and then the assistant manager of human resources. Prior to serving in these roles, Walters served as the director of human resources and assistant vice president for human resources for nearly 11 years at Lewis & Clark College in Portland. He also served as a human resources specialist at Seattle University prior to that.

Walters is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the human Resources Certification Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Montana State University and has completed graduate work in business administration. He is also a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.
