MOSCOW, Idaho – The following is a list of University of Idaho sponsored events for the week of Sept. 17-23. Events will take place in Moscow and are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted.
Tuesday, Sept. 18
VIEW Speaker Series: Innovating in the Face of Chaos

The VIEW Speaker Series, sponsored by the College of Business and Economics, seeks to develop leadership and an entrepreneur attitude among students at the university by hosting several influential speakers throughout the year. By doing so, the university hopes to instill ideas within students that will help them contribute greatly to Idaho’s industries upon graduation. This week’s series will feature John C. Shovic, a chief technology officer for a company specializing in medical software. This event is free and open to the public. Tournées French Film Festival 2012

Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre

The third annual Tournées French Film Festival is an event put on by the University of Idaho and Washington State University’s language departments that joins the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre to showcase five recent French films for five Tuesday evenings starting Sept. 18. The first film featured will be Les Femmes Du 6ème Etage or The Woman on the 6th Floor, a social comedy which tells the story of an encounter between a middle class French family and a group of Spanish maids that work in their apartment building. Tickets will be $4 at the door but admission is free to all U-Idaho and WSU students with their student ID card. For more information visit www.kenworthy.org.

University of Idaho Retirees Fall Luncheon

This luncheon, put on annually by the University of Idaho, welcomes retirees of the university to honor them. Three $1,000 dollar scholarships will also be presented at this event to current students Amanda Zohar, McKenzie Peterson and Brittany Kiser. The event will begin with a social hour at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will follow at noon. The cost of the luncheon is $15 payable at the door and all guests and friends are welcome to attend. The Lucky One

As part of the ASUI and Vandal Entertainment’s film series “Blockbuster in the Borah”, this weekend will feature the romantic drama The Lucky One. Inspired by a Nicholas Sparks novel, this film follows the story of U.S. Marine Sgt. Logan Thibault, who travels to Louisiana to find a girl he believes to have been his good luck charm in his three tours in Iraq. This event is free and open to the public.

Come watch the Vandals take on the University of Wyoming Cowboys for the annual Hall of Fame Game and Military Appreciation Day. The game will kick off at 2 p.m. at the Kibbie Dome.
