MOSCOW, Idaho – The following is a list of University of Idaho sponsored events for the week of Aug. 6-12. Events will take place in Moscow, and are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted.

Sorority Recruitment 2012 Begins
9 a.m.
Wallace Residence Hall
1080 W. 6th St. in Moscow
Recruitment is the mutual selection process which students may go through to join a sorority. Students will be able to meet members from every chapter, learn about the chapters’ activities, tour the chapter facility and figure out which sorority is the right one for them. Sorority recruitment begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, and runs through Tuesday, Aug. 14. For more information, visit

Idaho Repertory Theatre Backstage Barbecue
5-7 p.m.
Hartung Theater Lawn
625 Stadium Dr. in Moscow
Come celebrate the completion of Hartung rigging updates with free food and entertainment. Take a tour of the newly renovated theatre, get a sneak peek of the summer production, Circle Mirror, Transformation by Annie Baker, opening Aug. 16., watch a sword fighting demonstration, play theatre games, facepainting for children, free hamburgers and hot dogs and take part in a silent auction. Bid on items donated by local businesses including: flight lessons with Interstate Aviation; a night’s stay at the Wesson Bunkhouse, bed and breakfast; Merry Cellars wine tour and hands-on winemaking experience; Chinook salmon dinner for 6-7 hosted by IRT board member Christine Moffitt; Lionel Hampton Jazz Fest 2013 gift basket - tickets to a Friday or Saturday show of your choice; Sam Dial Jewelers gift basket; Pullman Lentil Festival gift basket; and a gift basket from the Wine Company of Moscow. Auction items will be available for bidding until Aug. 26.
