UI to Host Meet the Vandals for High School Students

MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Idaho Falls invites high school students from southeast Idaho to a special event for students interested in attending the University of Idaho. Meet the Vandals will be held on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. at the University of Idaho, 1776 Science Center Dr. in Idaho Falls.

“The University of Idaho provides our students with life-changing opportunities to grow personally and professionally. The Meet the Vandals event brings all that possibility to Idaho Falls for students and families to learn more,” said Jeff Dodge, interim assistant vice president for enrollment management.

All high school students admitted for the upcoming academic year and students interested in applying to UI are welcome to attend, as well as their families. To RSVP, visit www.uidaho.edu/admitted/meet-the-vandals/meet-the-vandals-rsvp.

Students will have the chance to receive information about financial aid and scholarships, residence halls, fraternity and sorority life, transfer information and Vandal Friday. Participants also will be able to talk with UI faculty, staff and alumni, as well as meet with admissions representatives. Additionally, students can prepare to enroll for classes, set up their Vandal accounts and learn about on-campus living options.

The event wraps up with three break-out sessions:

Session 1
• Meet the Parents: Question and Answer session with current UI parents, students and staff;
• Student Involvement: How to maximize your college experience;
• Register for Vandal Friday or apply for admissions.

Session 2
• Show Me the Money: UI scholarships and financial aid;
• Attending Vandal Friday: What’s in it for me?;
• Campus Living: Living options and student life;
• Register for Vandal Friday or apply for admissions.

Session 3
• Show Me the Money: UI scholarships and financial aid;
• Attending Vandal Friday: What’s in it for me?;
• Campus Living: Living options and student life;
• Register for Vandal Friday or apply for admission.

Participants who have applied to the UI and those who already are admitted will receive a free Vandal T-shirt. All student participants will be entered in a drawing to win a free iPad. Winners will be announced in May.
