Ubuntu Shoe Drive

Tuesday, April 23 2013

Ubuntu, a committee dedicated to promoting respect, understanding, and equality throughout the University of Idaho, will be holding a shoe drive. Ubuntu supports the whole of humanity through large and small acts of kindness. Ubuntu’s vision is to create an atmosphere of unity and empowerment for all. The Ubuntu Spring Project campaign is to collect gently used shoes of all types, sizes for global distribution to those in need through Soles4Souls.

Most children in developing countries grow up without shoes. Soles4Souls has distributed 19 million pairs so far in 127 countries, including the USA.

The Ubuntu UI Shoe drive will occur April 26-May 10 with drop off boxes at the Idaho Commons, SUB, Memorial Gym, LLC, Wallace, Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Women’s Center.
