Robert and Floretta Austin Distinguished Lecture in Science

Dr. Jill Seaman, an infectious disease physician, will present the College of Science's annual Robert and Floretta Austin Distinguished Lecture in Science on Sept. 6, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the University Auditorium. The title of Seaman's presentation is: "Access to Care: Epidemic kala azar in Sudan." The event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
Dr. Seaman is a Moscow native and a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine. Formerly with Doctors Without Borders, she formed her own organization, Sudan Medical Relief, to continue her work with the Nuer people of Sudan, treating deadly epidemics of kala azar and tuberculosis. Among other honors, Dr. Seaman was named a 2009 MacArthur Fellow.
