Parma Pomology Program Annual Fruit Field Day

Location: University of Idaho Parma Research and Extension Center

The University of Idaho Annual Fruit Field Day will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the U-Idaho Parma Research and Extension Center Pomology Orchard and Vineyard site. The location is roughly four miles north of Parma. Several cultivars of new table grapes, peaches, nectarines, apples, quince, Asian pears, and other alternative fruits will be presented during the tour.

The field day includes a discussion on fruit research and production and the opportunity to sample several types and cultivars of fruit. the tours include discussion, and question and answer sessions on various cultural practices of fruit crops, including planting, growth regulators, pruning, thinning, girdling, irrigation, pest and disease control, safety in chemical application.
