Movement Sciences Chair Named IAHPERD University Educator of the Year

Philip Scruggs, associate professor and College of Education Department of Movement Science’s chair, has been honored with College/University Educator of the Year for 2014 from the IAHPERD (Idaho Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance).

“It is fabulous to see Dr. Scruggs recognized by his peers for his many contributions to his areas of expertise, including physical education and healthy active living,” said Cori Mantle-Bromley, dean of the College of Education.

Scruggs has been with the University of Idaho since 2008 and has served as department chair since the beginning of 2014. He received his bachelor’s from University of Texas Arlington in exercise and sport studies, master’s from University of Wyoming in kinesiology and health and doctorate from University of Utah in exercise and sport science.
